Five classroom management tips for your Sunday school or small group environment
- Communicate expectations for learning and behavior for your kids (no running in the halls, keep your hands to yourself, don’t talk when others are talking)
- Establish and communicate classroom procedures (a clear, communicated routine; what’s coming up next)
- Establish what a classroom disruption is and anticipate how you will deal with that (planning for potential and anticipated problems ahead of time)
- State, in a positive way, the behavior you would like to see in the students in your class
- Build community in your classroom (get to know them, build relationships, ask them questions, pray for them, and remember their birthdays)
