Five more classroom management tips for your Sunday school or small group environment
- Keep moving during instruction and transition time (children need to wiggle and move, and make transitions smooth and deliberate)
- Catch kids doing something good, instead of doing something bad (encourage kids when they display good behavior rather than always getting on to them when they are bad)
- Use some non-verbal techniques for getting kids to quiet down (i.e. hand clap, turning off the lights, or raising of the hand)
- Have fun in your classroom (make your classroom a positive, engaging place where kids want to be)
- Change things up a little bit (do the unexpected, change the pace, be spontaneous, keep kids guessing)
